Mir Ashfaq Ali Khan is a distinguished athlete. In addition to his architectural career, he achieved National-level excellence in polo and proudly represented the United Andhra Pradesh in Equestrian tent-pegging at the National Games in India.
Ashfaq's contributions to sports have been recognized through articles published in various sporting magazines, including Sports Star and Society. Notably, he served as a Sub-Committee Member for the Afro-Asian Games held in Hyderabad in 2003. He also played badminton at the state level and was trained by Syed Mohammed Arif Sir, popularly known as Arif Saab, an Indian badminton coach and recipient of the Dronacharya Award and the Padma Shri from the Government of India. In 2010, Ashfaq participated in Air Rifle Shooting at the Sub-Nationals.
