Mir Ashfaq Ali Khan possesses strong leadership and communication skills and believes in honesty and integrity, which are essential qualities of a strong leader. He hails from the erstwhile ruling family of the Banaganapalli State and resides in Hyderabad, Telangana. He is the founder, director, and principal architect of Mir Architects. With a Master’s degree in Architecture from JNTU Hyderabad and a remarkable career spanning two decades, Ashfaq has earned recognition as an award-winning architect.

Early Life

Mir Ashfaq Ali Khan, born in 1982, is an Aquarius. He is the eldest son of the late Nawab Mir Hyder Ali Khan, a politician and businessman, and former Chairman of the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh. Born and raised in Hyderabad, he attended the prestigious St. George's Grammar School in Abids. He served as school captain in preschool and was elected house captain in high school. During his childhood, Ashfaq played badminton under the coaching of Dronacharya Awardee, Mr. S.M. Arif, at the state level, and later represented the state in national polo and equestrian events.

Education

After schooling, Ashfaq pursued a Bachelor's in Architecture and later completed a Master's in Architecture from CSI School of Architecture and Planning, Secunderabad, affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. He is an active member of The Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID) & The Council of Architecture (COA).

Political Life

Ashfaq observed politics closely from childhood and worked tirelessly in the Hyderabad and Rayalaseema regions during the general elections of the 1990s, alongside his father, a founding member of the TDP. Ashfaq maintains extensive political connections with many political figures in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Works

As a professional architect, Ashfaq has worked on numerous iconic projects. He has been a driving force behind many challenging projects, including the Moula Ali Ramp in Hyderabad, an IT Tower in Malakpet, and the restoration of the Hyderabad Police Commissioner's office in the old city, among others. Recently, Ashfaq was elected as a board member of the Imam-e-Zamana Mission, a charitable organization that helps underprivileged children access primary, secondary, and professional education.

Sports

Ashfaq started horse riding at a very young age. He was a national polo player. He began playing polo in 1998, taking up the sport with great enthusiasm. He represented the state of Andhra Pradesh in the Equestrian Tent-pegging event at the 32nd National Games in 2002. In 2003, he was a member of the 1st Afro-Asian Games Sub-Committee, and in 2010, he participated in Air-Rifle Shooting at the Sub-Nationals. He also played badminton at the state level during his school days. His articles were published in numerous newspapers and magazines, including Sports Star and Society.
